Household Management

Household management is the coordination of the day-to-day activities within the home. In the most traditional (or alternative) households, this coordination will take place according to the parameters established by the husband, or head of household. It includes budgeting, purchasing, scheduling, record keeping, organizing, decorating, decluttering and generally preparing the home for family and guests.

Additionally, household management is the integration of these duties into the overall lifestyle of the family. You will need to consider your family's faith or religious practices, health and physical abilities, relationship preferences, political beliefs, environmental concerns, income and financial situation, entertainment predilections, as well as the household's short-term and long-term goals.
"A house may have had every thought and care extended upon its furnishing and equipment, every device for convenience and comfort, and yet fail to be a home. The home is created by the ideals of the family or of her who is to lead in its administration and management." - Shelter and Clothing: A Textbook of the Household Arts by Helen Kinne, Anna Maria Cooley
Household management is the planning and reasoning behind the doing.
